It has been over 30 years since Firefly Books published Robert Munsch’s bestselling children’s book Love You Forever, and like it’s author, the book is still much-loved by families across the world.

Robert Munsch was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1945 and found his calling as a teacher and storyteller in the 1970s when he moved to Guelph, Ontario to work at the University of Guelph's daycare.

He published his first book in 1979 and soon gained worldwide acclaim for his playful, exuberant stories.

In 1986, Firefly Books published Love You Forever, which Munsch has said is the book he is most proud to have written.
